This research focused on the protection of transformer against short circuit. Transformers are important equipment in a power system. The transformer needs to be protected from short circuit, one of the similar faults in transformer. Short circuit protection includes internal short circuit and external short circuit. For the internal short circuit, the differential relays are used to protected transformer and also overcurrent relay are used for the external short circuit. In order to protected transformer effectively, the relay need to set properly. The relay setting based on the current and voltage transformer included the load impedance. Data is calculated to get the fault current. According to technical data from specific relay, the operation time of relay is set. All data on this research based on transformer in main intake Kangar, Perlis.en_US
