    Abstract
Backup technique is important to avoid losing your important data. However, just doing backup without secure protection will expose your important backup data to potential crisis of being stolen and seen. LAN secure backup system can help you avoid this kind of potential crisis and save lots of your storage resources. A local area network (LAN) is a network of computers, located physically close to one another. A LAN consists of two or more computers, each equipped with a communications device called a network interface or network adapter. This secure backup system is development using Visual Basic 6.0 that programming language and environment developed by Microsoft. Based on the BASIC language, Visual Basic was one of the first products to provide a graphical programming environment and a paint metaphor for developing user interfaces. The main objective of this project is to design a systematic and efficient secure backup system. It has been designed to protect information at anywhere and anytime at home or at work, and it keeps the files and folders secure by storing them safely via LAN. This system will backup all files, folders and security information at any convenient time.
