Development of a GUI based Network Sniffing program which is able to display the packet which pass through a particular machine
Abstract
Recently, many software development companies developed network sniffing program which can detect and analysis packets send through a network community such as Local Area Network (LAN). Mostly, the objective of this software being developed is to analysis the source and destination of packets transferred and received trough a host PC. Usually, the network sniffer focused to network layer protocol such as IP and TCP. With this program, we can control our packet traffic flow easily, and also observe our network management problems. This project is to develop a network sniffing program. This program can detect and analysis how many bytes received by a host PC. This program also can detect IP address, IP length, and TCP source and destination address of a packet. This project had been developed using LINUX platform and used tools and library from C language. The interface for this program had been developed using GAMBAS language.
