dc.description.abstract | Dolomite obtained from Chuping, Perlis quarry was mechanically activated at different parameters of planetary milling (miling time and rotational speed of milling) and was thermally treated at temperature from 700-900 °C. The changes of structural and modifications of raw, grounded and thermally treated dolomite were determined by X-ray diffraction patterns. The chemical composition and elemental constituents of the raw dolomite samples was investigated using energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy
(EDX) and X-ray fluorescence (XRF). From the scanning electronic microscopy (SEM) the morphological of dolomite were obtained. also, it was discussed in which the adsorption of nitrogen affect the properties of dolomite. SEM images of sample grounded at higher speed (450 rpm) indicated that the original shape of dolomite (presence of polygonal and irregular shape with sharp edges) was totally destroyed, leading to small particles size. the surface area and pore size were investigated and it
results the increasing in specific surface area and pore size as the temperature increases during calcination process. As the conclusion, characteristic of structural and morphology of dolomite were changed and modified due to the mechanical activation
and thermal treatment process. | en_US |
