    Abstract
Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) nanoparticles have been frequently employed mainly in solar energy application. This is due to the highly efficient photocatalysis action and the costing in preparation of TiO₂ is affordable. In this research, the formation of TiO₂ powder is conducted by sol-gel technique. The different annealing temperatures which are 60 ⁰C, 80 ⁰C and 100 ⁰C are detected to be the most important parameter in preparation of TiO₂ powder. The TiO₂ thin film is fabricated by using spin coating method due to the simplicity of the method. TiO₂ thin film were analysed using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) which give a diffraction pattern for the thin films were in the formation of amorphous diffraction peak. Besides, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) show different shapes and sizes of the surface morphology of the samples which anatase structure can be detected. For Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis spotted the existence of Titanium and Oxygen on the surface of the thin films. Lastly, UV-Visible Spectroscopy (UV-Vis) gives results on absorbance and transmittance spectrum. Both absorbance and transmittance curves showing the same trend and the percentage of both spectrum is nearly the same. TiO₂ thin film for solar energy application has been successfully synthesized by solgel technique. The anatase structure also shown on the TiO₂ thin film gives the best result for effective TiO₂ thin film.
