    Abstract
This project is to design and fabricate a small size and portable of tensile test machine that can be used for laboratory teaching purpose. Existing tensile testing machine in laboratory is not enough to accommodate student that many in one time. Besides, the main objective is to design and fabricate of a mini tensile test machine involves the low cost to fabricate, the reliability and capability of the machine. The study focused on literature review to develop a concept design of the machine. Concept design that selected is transformed into technical drawing by using CAD/CAM software. The drawing is needed to make analysis by using CATIA to make improvement to product. The fabrication process of the machine is involved the process such as cutting, drilling, milling and assembly. The machine that is completed fabricate should be tested by conducting experiment on specimen to determine the reliability and limitation of the machine. The results are compared with the test results of the existing machine to develop the specification of the machine. Capability and reliability are important factors in mini tensile testing machine to obtain a precise result during conduct an experiment. Finite element analysis (FEA) is used to analyze the capability on the critical parts before conduct the real test. This machine part that has been analyzed be able to accommodate until 1000 N without fracture, but this machine considered the factor of safety which is 2. Thus, the maximum load that can be applied to this machine is 500 N. Elongation that can be measure for this machine is up to 50 mm depend on length of test piece.
