Transformer derating with full wave rectifier load
Abstract
Transformers are basically passive devices for transforming voltage and current. Transformer allows voltage levels to be changed throughout the electrical distribution system. Transformers were simply derated to compensate for nonlinear
loads. For this project, nonlinear load are full wave rectifier, resistive load and DC
motor load. In this project, the Schaffner is used to analyze harmonic in the
transformer using full wave rectifier and loads. The project explained either the
single phase transformer need derated or still applicable for the three load circuits.
