This project specifically describes an analysis and research about mechanism of Surface Discharge Detector in Inclined Plane Test which is the Optical Method is used. Surface discharge is one types of partial discharge, which appearing at the boundary of different insulation materials. Surfaces discharges occur when a stress component parallel to a dielectric surface, existed. The analysis particularly embraced the detection of the surface discharge using detector that will be designed then it will connect to the circuit for inclined plane test. The detector is design to pick up early signs of surface discharge that may occurs during electric stress conditions while high voltage is supplied. Inclined plane test is one of the classical method that is used to evaluate and tracking an erosion behavior under high-voltage stress. The goal of this design is to identify an early stage of power losses and the possible failure of the system. The circuit of detector will be design using PSpice Software. The results obtained from this method enable a better understanding of the fundamental surface discharge’s mechanism.en_US
