    Abstract
This project presents the performance comparison of routing protocols in wired cum wireless network. Destination-Sequenced Distance-Vector Routing (DSDV) and Adhoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) Routing are used in this project to evaluate and compare their performances in wired cum wireless network. The aim is to focus on the performance of routing protocol used in combination of network consisting of wired and wireless network. Different type of routing protocols incur different packet delay, packet loss and throughput. The performance of different routing protocol namely AODV and DSDV are being investigated. The investigation gives an useful information to which routing protocol performs better in the developed topology. Coding for wired cum wireless topology is designed and the simulation is carried out using Network Simulator (NS-2) for DSDV and AODV by varying the packet sizes. The results obtained using AWK code to analyze the result for throughput, packet loss and packet delay of the routing protocols used in this project. From the result obtained, the data is analysed and plotted into graphs of their performance that are created. DSDV shows better performance in throughput while AODV shows better performance in packet loss. For the future work, it is proposed to cover up other routing protocols and compare them by taking different simulation scenarios. Additionally, it is proposed to simulate these protocols using different simulation setups. Also in order to judge their performance, it is proposed to implement these protocols in real life as well.
