Tapered slot antenna also known as Vivaldi antenna normally have wide bandwidth, high directivity and simple feed structure. In this project, a Vivaldi antenna was designed to achieve wide bandwidth from 4GHz to 8GHz. The aim of this project is to design a wideband antenna that can act as a sensor probe when a dielectric material is placed on the antenna. Wood and water which have a dielectric constant of 1.2 to 2.1 and 70 respectively are the dielectric material that is used in order to observe the shifting of S11 and to compare the dielectric measurements of wood and water with existing one. The performances such return loss, radiation pattern and VSWR are presented.en_US
