This paper presents the Spectral Amplitude Coding Optical Code Division Multiple Access system (SAC-OCDMA) based on Recursive Combinatorial (RC) code with direct detection and AND subtraction detection technique. Generally SAC-OCDMA systems are receiving more attention because of their ability to completely eliminate multiple access interference (MAI). RC code is designed to overcome the limitations faced by other existing codes of the same class. In order to investigate the performance, Optisystem software is used to run the simulation. The performance is based on Bit Error Rate (BER) and eye diagram. It is shown in the performance analysis that the direct detection contributes to a better detection in SAC-OCDMA performance in term fiber length up to 105 Km at a bit error rate of 10-9. In addition, by using the APD photodetector it clearly shows that the performance of OCDMA system is better than using PIN photodetector. At 155 Mbps and 622 Mbps, the input power tested in -8 dBm to 10dBm. Here, simulation have shown that the higher the power input, the better the performance of the system. Hence, due the all simulation it can conclude that direct detection contributes to better detection compare to AND Subtraction detection.en_US
