This paper presents the result of anthropometer design and anthropometric data from female students in University Malaysia Perlis. The purpose of the anthropometry survey project was to construct an anthropometric database for Malaysian female adults, for use by designers and engineers involved in designing the ergonomics-related products and facilities. A new anthropometer is designed and produced to use for conducting the anthropometry survey. The target of the design is to produce an ideal anthropometer which can shorten the measuring time and portable compare with the existing anthropometer. 280 female students, age ranged from 18 till 25 years old, were randomly selected from University Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) to participate in the survey. A total number of 36 body dimensions were measured and recorded. Mean, standard deviation, 5th and 95th percentile for each dimensions were estimated. Significant differences in anthropometric data were found when comparing the anthropometric data from this study with the other countries’ adults. This study survey provides the first anthropometric database of Malaysian female adults. These results suggest that it is essential to incorporate accurate anthropometry in the design process.en_US
