    Abstract
This paper presents a numerical approach to study a multiple crack problem in metallic finite body. The aim is to evaluate the stress intensity factor (SIF) of dimensionless cracks interaction based on equal and parallel cracks in finite body. The solution is based on singularity element at the crack tip regards to linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM) principles. Plane strain condition and uniaxial Mode I loading are considered to investigate the mechanical elastic interaction between multiple cracks. A comprehensive comparison with previous analytical work is made to justify the accuracy of present work and to identify the limitation of previous analytical formulation. The results obtained show that interaction between equal and parallel multiple cracks experienced varies of shielding effect as the cracks interval change, thus effect the SIF magnitude at the crack tip.
