International Postgraduate Conference On Engineering (IPCE 2010), 16th - 17th October 2010 organized by Centre for Graduate Studies, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) at School of Mechatronic Engineering, Pauh Putra Campus, Perlis, Malaysia.en_US
Functional graded (FG) HAP-F75 was prepared by powder metallurgy technique. Three layers of functional graded HAP-F75 was fabricated using single punch hydraulic press. The fabrication technique consists of mixing, pressing and sintering. Six samples which contain different composition of intermediate layers were prepared and characterized. The composition of the outer layer of FG HAP-F75 was fixed to 100% HAP and 100% F75. Cone shape appears after sintering process due to different coefficient of thermal expansion of each layer. Porosity and density testing were done using Archimedes principle to all samples. Percentage of HAP and F75 composition affected the value of porosity and density.en_US
