    Abstract
Over recent years, the implementation of reliability based analysis in fracture and fatigue assessment of welded joint has escalated. The accuracy of the reliability based analysis and evaluation are demanded by the society. The analysis complexity vary depends on the performance function, which exist in explicit and implicit form. There are numerous sources of uncertainty in the load and resistance related parameters in analysis. There is a wealth of published literature which applied reliability based analysis for cracked structures but still there is need for proper review on reliability based analysis in welded joint since welded joint is almost the reliable metallic joint for many critical engineering structures. This paper reviews fatigue life analysis and reliability based analysis for welded joints as well as new methods or approaches that potentially proven to design new framework for welded joint fatigue
