International Postgraduate Conference On Engineering (IPCE 2010), 16th - 17th October 2010 organized by Centre for Graduate Studies, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) at School of Mechatronic Engineering, Pauh Putra Campus, Perlis, Malaysia.en_US
Bovine adipose tissue derived stem cells have a tremendous potential in regenerative medicine for tissue engineering, especially in Somatic Nuclear Transfer (SNT) for making transgenic animal and animal breeding. The optimisation of bovine tissue stem cells isolation will maximise the quantity of stem cells. This directly reduces the processing time, efforts and money as isolation is the first crucial and important step in stem cells research. Abdominal subcutaneous and inguinal adipose tissue are collected and digested in three collagenase type 1 concentration 0.075%, 0.3% and 0.6% agitated at 1.5 hours and 2 hours under 370C in 5% CO2 incubator. The cultures are morphologically characterised. Bovine adipose tissue derived stem cells are best isolated using abdominal subcutaneous depot, using 0.6% collagenase type 1 agitated at 2 hours under 37 0C in CO2 incubator.en_US
