A new detection technique, namely direct detection technique in OCDM system is introduced in this paper. In OCDM system, the unique code sequence is formed by using spectral components which are inherently arranged. The code used in this technique is Double Weight (DW) code. Direct detection technique, requires only one pair of decoder at the receiver side. The performance of this technique is studied. The theory is being elaborated and simulation results have been done by using OptiSystem 6.0. The simulation results show the better Bit Error Rate (BER) performance for direct detection technique compared to AND subtraction technique. This is because with less number of filters in the decoder, the multiple access interference (MAI) can be reduced and this can be clearly seen in the result.
