Generally wind turbine capture wind's kinetic energy in a rotor consisting of two or more blades mechanically coupled to a generator. Vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) has two types that are Savonius and Darrieus wind turbine. This paper describes about vertical axis hybrid wind turbine that consist Savonius and Darrieus on the same shaft. Optimum design and performance of the system also discussed. This system created to suit for the low wind speed according to Perlis has a low wind speed. The hybrid vertical axis wind turbine has much better self starting characteristic. It managed to produce 12 Vdc to 13 Vdc to charged the 12 Vdc batteries system. This system present system design and performance in indoor test.
