This paper presents the design and construction of a low power application-specific EEG bio-potential multichannel
amplifier with high common mode rejection ratio (CMRR) and high input impedance. The bio-potential amplifier designed was
band-limited specifically (0-40Hz) to control the power-line noise interferences and intends to record event-related and evoked potentials of the somatosensory stimuli. The fabricated EEG bio-potential amplifier has a CMRR of 140 dB below 100 Hz with an input impedance of 300 MΩ. The designed EEG bio-potential amplifier circuit meets the required specification of low power
consumption and high gain. The EEG bio-potential amplifier was tested on young healthy subjects and the results were compared to those obtained using commercially available EEG amplifiers.
The observed results with the designed bio-potential amplifier are able to provide significant information for biomedical
engineering research.
