    Abstract
The aim of this study is to develop integrated anaerobic-aerobic and aerobic sequencing batch reactors (SBRs) for the treatment of remazol dyes-containing wastewater. This study also focuses to measure the ability of degradation remazol dyes-containing wastewater using integrated anaerobic-aerobic and aerobic sequencing batch reactors (SBRs). This study investigates which types of SBRs system effective for chemical oxygen demand (COD) and colour removal in remazol dyes-containing wastewater. Both SBRs were used for 24 hours cycle. This study has two phases with different ratio of sludge to remazol dyes-containing wastewater. The integrated anaerobic-aerobic SBR (SBR 1) was found to allow reductive decolorization of remazol dyes and chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal while aerobic SBR (SBR 2) was found to be effective in COD removal only. For phase one, the percentage of chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal of SBR 1 and SBR 2 were 39 % and 75 %, while for phase two, 85 % and 89 %. The percentage of colour reduction for λmax 544 of remazol dyes by SBR 1 and SBR 2 were 92 % and 50 % while for λmax 400 were 60 % and 40 %.
