Mathematical model for in-cylinder pressure of combustion process in the diesel engine as a correlation to the external load
Abstract
In this paper, a mathematical model for in-cylinder
pressure data of diesel engine is presented. Most of the
researchers only developed the characteristic of the
combustion process and pressure by computationally
and experimentally. The model is developed for
generating the profile of pressure by taking into
account the external load variation. This model will be
applied as a load profile on the piston surface. The
pressure curve data of 500 cc single cylinder diesel
engine is used. Exponential equation is modeled to be
fitted on the pressure data profile for a wide range
external load variation. These equations were
validated by comparing with the previously published
work, a good agreement between the results are
obtained. Based on the obtained exponential equation
of =, it was developed to be a set of
mathematical equations for each load level as shown
in Table 3, that can be applied automatically in
calculating the engine dynamics for a wide range of
external load by inputting the maximum pressure data
of every stage.
