The present work concerns with the heat
transfer by natural convection and radiation in an annular
cone fixed with saturated porous medium. The Darcy
model is used to predict the heat transfer behavior in the
porous medium. The surface of the cone is maintained
isothermally. The partial differential equations are nondimensionalized
using suitable nondimensional
parameters. The finite element method is used in this
study. Computer code is generated to solve the coupled
energy and momentum equations. Results are reported for
average Nusselt number against different cone angles,
radiation parameter, Rayliegh number, radius ratio. It is
observed that the cone angle plays an important role in
heat transfer from the surface of the cone to the porous
medium.
