dc.description.abstract | IBS construction was not uncommon in Malaysia, it was first introduce at 1960’s where two pilot project were announced by the government, which is Pekeliling Flats, Kuala Lumpur and Rifle Road Flat, Pulau Pinang. Although, safety performance in IBS
construction are still lacking and accident statistic in construction industry are still high in Malaysia. This study were proposed to research about the safety implementation for IBS construction in Perlis. The objective of this study were to determine the safety aspects and requirement, to assess the safety awareness and to propose recommendation to improve the level of safety in IBS construction. This research are through questionnaire distribution, it was distributed to construction firm around Perlis. Total of 42 respondent involved in this study, the respondent consider safety is very important in construction. Most of the respondent agreed safety in IBS construction are not much different from conventional method. Because, both of this method are bound to the regulation and guideline from Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) and Department of Safety & Health (DOSH) Malaysia. Through the study, the respondent are very aware about safety at construction site. Other than that, respondent agreed that accident occur at construction site were due to poor workers attitude. For conclusion, the safety implementation in IBS and conventional method are almost similar and the main factor of accident in construction site are due to workers attitude at construction site. | en_US |
