dc.description.abstract | Corrugated webs are used to increase the shear stability of the webs of beams and girders and to eliminate the need for transverse stiffeners. This paper focuses on the shear strength of corrugated steel webs with triangular web profiled. Shear buckling occurred in the instability modes of steel beams when it slender. There are a few formula apply in this paper for predicting shear strength are then compared with selected test results. This paper develops a three-dimensional finite element model using LUSAS software to study on the effect of web geometry on shear capacity of triangular profiled web girder (TriPWG) with different thickness compared to that the conventional plate girder (CPG). All specimens are cantilever beam which are fixed at one ends. The flange is constant with variable web thickness. Eigenvalue analysis was used in analyzing the buckling load of flat plate model and triangular web profiled (TriPWG). | en_US |
