Image enhancement is often carried out on medical images to improve the quality of the
images for further analysis that needs to be done afterwards. It is the most fundamental digital
image processing approach done on the bone marrow slide images. Bone marrow slide images are
needed to be enhanced in terms of its contrast, brightness and clarity to eased the leukemia
screening process. Image enhancement technique is done on the images entirely which includes the
White Blood Cells (WBCs), Red Blood Cells (RBCs) and Background (BG). This paper will
present the implementation of two image enhancement techniques which are the Partial Contrast
Stretching (PCS) and Dark Contrast Stretching (DCS) on bone marrow slide images. Both
techniques show good results despite of its slight difference in algorithm.
