dc.description.abstract | Nowadays, the development of infrastructure is become number one in priority in the world particularly for the development country. So, there is a great demand for construction industry. Nevertheless, the developers need to assured that their structure can last for a long period of time. Concrete is one of the most common construction materials in building construction including road pavement.Interlocking Concrete Block Pavement (ICBP) is also one of the contruction material that has been use in contruction expesially for road contruction.Modified Interlocking Concrete Block Pavement (ICBP) using plastic bottle as an additive and sand replacement was investigated in this study. The main aim of this research is to study the physical and engineering properties of modified (ICBP) using plastic bottle including comperssion test and water absorbtion. Both properties of the modified (ICBP) will be comparing with the standard (ICBP). The ratio of the (ICBP) use in this research is 1:3 which stand for 1 part cement, 3 parts sand and the plastic bottle are used as part of sand replacement in the mix with percentage of 2%, 5%, 10%.Based on the test was carry on , it shows that plastic bottle ia not suitable material to used in concrete mix .The strength of concrete less than existing when more percentage additive of plastic bottle is apply. The result of water absorbtion test increase due to the percentage of additive that can affect strength of the concrete block. | en_US |
