dc.description.abstract | Lightweight aggregate (LWA) is a lightweight inert material, such as foamed slag, vermiculite, clinker, and perlite. The palm oil clinker (POC) is one of the agricultural waste, produced in abundance has the potential to be used as aggregate in concrete. In this project, the physical characteristic and chemical properties of palm oil clinker as replacement of aggregate and the effects to concrete mixing is also investigated. Palm oil clinker (POC) can be used as fine and coarse aggregate in production of concrete. The uniformity and grading for palm oil clinker represent well graded materials. The particle shape of POC is 34 % flaky, 16% elongated and 7% to 10% water absorption. The Aggregate Crushing Value (ACV) for palm oil clinker indicates 45.32% strength that recommended used as aggregate. The compression test is carried out at 14 days cube test that used mix proportion 1:2.04:0.87 of cement, fine POC, coarse POC give the moderate strength concrete which is indicates between 20 to 40 MPa and suitable used for most structural work. The chemical analysis of POC aggregate and POC concrete is carried out by X-Ray Fluorescent (XRF) test that calcium oxide and ferric oxide are the main constituents of palm oil clinker aggregates. The mixtures of palm oil clinker with concrete, the main compounds are RuO2 and CaO. | en_US |
