    Abstract
Environmental pollution problem especially water sources pollution become most of public interest. Rainfall water always content of mixtures of chemicals depends on the characteristic of rainfall area. This is because the rain always does the hydrology cycle with the surface water on the earth. Rain water will gather after the process of evaporation and evapotranspiration. Because of the rain fall, the characteristics of water and air from the area of rainfall will affect the composition and characteristics of rainfall. This study wants to measure the water quality on Perlis river and from at least four different small rivers that connecting to Perlis river. The selected river that will be survey is Sungai Kuala Perlis, Sungai Kayang, Sungai Seriab, Lencungan Utara River, Sungai Repoh and Sungai Kangar. It will give different water quality and pollutant from each river. This plan will give easier way to investigate the sources of pollutant comes from each river depend to the lifestyle from that area. The water quality data before rainfall will be compared with the water quality data after the rainfall. After the preparation of equipment and chemical, the reading using for this monitoring process are river elevation, Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Suspended Solid (SS), pH and Ammonia Nitrogen (NH3N). The data and result are concluded after data preparation. Most of the river reduce the pollutant are less in wet season than in dry season depending of the Water Quality Index (WQI) calculation. As a conclusion, higher pollutant removal in Sg. Perlis was observed by the less rainfall that can reduce the pollutant in rivers.
