Assessment on air, noise and water quality at UniMAP`s Permanent Campus at Ulu Pauh
Abstract
Environmental pollution which includes water pollution, air pollution and noise pollution would give impact to living life in the world whether in long term or in short term. This research will be conduct for do the assessment on pollution that happen cause by the development at University Malaysia Perlis`s Permanent Campus at Ulu Pauh based of the assessment on particulate matter, water quality and also noise pollution. For the assessment on particulate matter, there are two points of monitoring. While for water quality, there are four points of monitoring. Then, for the assessment of noise pollution, there are six points of monitoring. The monitoring data will be analyzed. The result of data analyzed shown that the concentration of particulate matter is in moderate condition where this condition is save and not harmful to human. For the noise pollution assessment the concentration level was save and not caused to hearing damage. Lastly, for the water quality, the assessment is conducted based on Water Quality Index (WQI) and the comparison with Interim National Water Quality Standards for Malaysia (INWQS). Based on WQI, the classes for P1, P2 and P4 were in Class IV while for P3 was in Class III. But in the INWQS comparison, the result of all the point was be in Class IV and this class can be used for irrigation only.
