A Novel Insect Repellent Soap Based on Neem and Eucalyptus Citriodora Oil
(Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia (KPTM), 2005-09-30)
The use of neem (Azadirachta indica) and Eucalyptus citriodora oil is a two stage repellent system for the soap, where E. citriodora offers short term repellency and the Neem component offers longer term efficacy effects.
Biodegradation of redox dye Methylene Blue by up-flow anaerobic sludge blanket reactor
(Elsevier B.V., 2005-09-30)
The objective of this study is to evaluate the decolorization of Methylene Blue (MB) by an up-flow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactor. The UASB reactor was operated under batch condition with total treatment volume ...
Seaweed-Fish Integrated Aquaculture: A recycle of nutriens from Nile tilapia by Gracilaria changii
(Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia, 2005-09-30)
The ever increasing demand of the raw material and depletion of natural stock necessitates the cultivation of commercially important seaweeds like Gracilaria changii while fishes like Nile Talapia, are an important source ...
Treatment of azo dye Orange II in a sequential anaerobic and aerobic-sequencing batch ractor system
(Springer Verlag, 2005-04)
We studied the biodegradation of Orange II in a sequential anaerobic and aerobic-sequencing batch reactor system. Granular activated carbon was used either packed into a column or added directly into the anaerobic reactor ...
Supervisory fuzzy learning control for underwater target tracking
(2005-07-30)
This paper presents recent work on the improvement of the robotics vision based control strategy for underwater pipeline tracking system. The study focuses on developing image processing algorithms and a fuzzy inference ...
The behavior of Ni(II), Cr(III), and Zn(II) in biological wastewater treatment process
(John Wiley and Sons Ltd, 2005-06)
The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of Ni(II), Cr(III), and Zn(II) on the treatment performance of sequencing batch reactor (SBR) system. The kinetics of adsorption study showed that the pseudo ...
Decolorization of azo dye (Orange II) in a sequential UASB-SBR system
(Elsevier B.V., 2005-04)
The combination of up-flow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) and sequencing batch reactor was chosen as an anaerobic and aerobic system, respectively, in the treatment of Orange II-containing wastewater. The Orange II and ...
Artificial intelligence techniques in IC chip marking
(Kolej Universiti Kejuruteraan Utara Malaysia, 2005)
In this paper, an industrial machine vision system incorporating Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is employed to inspect the marking on the Integrated Circuit (IC) Chips. This inspection is carried out while the ICs are ...
A comparative study of small antenna efficiency measurements
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE), 2005)
Three methods of determining an antenna's efficiency are compared to measure the efficiency of three different antennas (two monopole antennas with attenuator and surface mount resistor, and modified folded monopole patch ...
Theoretical investigation of far-infrared optical behaviors in asymmentrical first-order ferroelectrtric thick film
(Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), 2005-12-06)
This paper gives a detailed, fully numerical approach to investigate the behavior of far-infrared (FIR) waves in the first-order of asymmetrical thick film ferroelectrics on semiconductor substrate. The theoretical calculation ...
