Abstract: The present paper describes the design, simulation, fabrication and testing of a McMurray bridge inverter circuit for conversion of dc power to ac power to be used for emergency loads from a solar panel. The solar energy can be converted directly to electrical energy by using photovoltaic modules. Photovoltaic array can produce a direct d.c. and can be stored in a battery. The d.c. is converted to a.c. by using single phase McMurray Bridge Inverter with PWM firing control. It consists of three parts which are firing circuit, McMurray bridge inverter circuit and the snubber circuit. The circuit is designed for output of 75W and 12Vand simulated by OrCAD Release 9.1. It is fabricated and tested in the laboratory. The design is presented and test waveforms are shown in the results.
