Most studies had been conducted to investigate the antioxidative properties of various plants with various methods and solvent used. However the need and human sensitivity of using organic solvent always been debate. Therefore, this study was done to investigate the potential of water as a solvent in pressurized extraction systems. Two systems had been used i.e. modified pressurized hot water extractor and commercially available autoclave. Both methods show similar trends of DPPH scavenging activity. Water extraction of Anarcardium occidendale for PHWE and autoclave shows the highest activity which is 78.4±xx and 76.7±xx respectively. Both extracts are comparable to standard flavoniods used i.e quercetin, kaempferol, mycertin and rutin. Diplazium esculentum shows moderate antioxidative activity among the samples studied. Other samples show poor antioxidant activity with the range of 0-30% activity.en_US
