The design of MAC protocol can
offer significant energy saving in multihop
wireless sensor networks. The sources of energy
wastage in wireless sensor networks is
overhearing, idle listening, protocol overhead and
collisions. There are some methods which have
been proposed to avoid energy wastage such as
the use of RTS/CTS, long preamble, random
backoff and others [1]. Although there are many
protocols have been developed, the discussion of
MAC protocol done in this paper is Prioritized
MAC PSIFT [2], RMAC [3], LAS-MAC [4] and
MF-MAC [5]. All MAC protocol was designed to
achieve only one goal, energy consumption and
latency. The low energy consumption and low
latency, the long lifetime of sensor nodes.
