Awareness of installation lightning protection system in the building among administration worker and engineering worker in Ipoh, Perak

Abstract

A recent study emphasizes on awareness of the importance of lightning protection systems. In our country at the moment, lightning protection system is not a requirement or a duty for all parties to install it. However, without realizing that this device is an essential tool which is able to save property or lives in blitz situations that we do not plan. Accordingly, objective this study focused on the existing level of awareness among workers of the administrative and engineering sectors. It aims to compare the extent to which the level of awareness that exists on both sides. The next study will show that there are different levels of consciousness at the moment and obstacles that may exist, causing a lack of awareness among them. The results of this study generally shows that workers in the engineering sector have a higher level of awareness of the lightning protection system in terms of function and its ability to provide protection in the event of a disaster crash. Suggestions for improvements or additions to the level of awareness can be enhanced through the efforts of the relevant parties, such as conducting awareness campaigns. Each organization may also increase awareness among members by involving all members of the organization in the management of lightning protection systems. The lack of promotion of the importance of such lightning protection cause lack of self-awareness in each. The discovery and subsequent study results are expected to help the parties concerned to further enhance the level of awareness among members about lightning protection.
