Steel slag is an industrial by-product of steel industry. Steel slag was selected due to its characteristics, which are almost similar to conventional aggregates and the fact that it is easily obtain. It consists of disposal waste which can harm the environmental. It is becoming more important to seek suitable alternatives for aggregates in the future. In this study, the coarse aggregates were replaced with steel slag aggregate at various proportions of 0 %, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. Experiments were conducted to determine the water absorption test, compressive strength and flexural strength with various percentages of steel slag aggregate. The results were compared with conventional concrete. The results of water absorption test for 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% was 0.151 kg, 0.072 kg, 0.067 kg, 0.066 kg and 0.064 kg respectively. While the concrete compression test 7 days for 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% is 36.79 N / mm², 41.322 N / mm², 43.425 N / mm², 44.182 N / mm² and 46.998 N / mm² respectively. Compression test concrete 28 days showed that each one was 42.165 N / mm², 55.535 N / mm², 56.38 N / mm², 60.35 N / mm² and 63 148 N / mm². While the flexural test result was 1.211 MPa, 1.223 MPa, 1.281 MPa, 1.370 MPa and 1.458 MPa respectively. For conclusion, results have shown that slag aggregate has better abrasion factor and impact value than conventional aggregate. Thorough investigation of the results have indicated that the amount of increase in compressive strength at aged of 7 days are much more than that of age 28 days for all types of aggregate replacement. This indicates that the steel slag aggregates as a good additive aggregates and can be a replacer of conventional aggregates.en_US
