Nowadays, waste has become the major problem in the world. One of the water pollution is contributed by wet market wastewater. The purposed solution to reduce wastewater problem in Malaysia is by using Effective Microorganism (EM). The EM reduced the environmental impact of conventional method. The EM consists of microorganism such as lactic acid bacteria, photosynthetic bacteria, yeast, fermenting fungi and actinomycetes. EM can be applied to many environments to break down organic matter. Ripe fruit were fermented for to produce EM juice. Next, the EM was added to wet market waste water samples collected from Pasar Besar Kangar. Parameters analyses were BOD, COD, ammonia nitrogen, total suspended solid and turbidity. The result showed that EM reduced BOD, COD, AN, TSS and turbidity to 17%, 70.8%, 66.8%, 14.56% and 40% respectively. Lastly, the dominant microorganism content in EM is bacillus bacteria which are rod in shape.en_US
