In this paper, we review researches on human faces from aspect offace recognition and face detection. Face emotion recognition are also reviewed. The study of human faces has much assistance on computer vision and machine learning research We can identify the age, gender, and ethnic origin from faces. Face recognition systems are divided into the holistic approach and the analytic approach. The holistic approach treats a human face as 2D pattern of intensity variation. The analytic approach recognizes a human face using the geometrical measurements taken among facial features, such as eye and mouth. The face emotion has been applied to different fields. One of the fields is robot which attained high attraction towards application. These face emotions are recognized using features such as eye, eye brow and mouth. These features play a vital role in emotion recognition. Face detection is a crucial step for face recognition and previously reported is classified into two groups: algorithms for detecting human faces in intensity images and algorithms for detecting human faces in color images. Gaze recognition has attained more attraction as well for application, because the gaze tries to understand user's attention and few applications as been explained.

The technique is separated into three main steps namely; preprocessing, feature extraction and ...
Mohamed Rizon, Mohamed Juhari; Phaklen Ehkan; Ahmad Nasir, Che Rosli (Kolej Universiti Kejuruteraan Utara Malaysia, 2005-05-18)We propose a new technique to recognize the unknown person in grayscale face images for which the position, scale and image-plane rotation of the face are unknown. The proposed system detects the iris of both eyes and ...
Development of gender and race recognition system using speech and recognition by using frequency spectrum Ng Siew Fong (School of Mechatronics Engineering, 2008-05)In this thesis, the development of an algorithm and system that is able to recognize gender and races by using the speech frequency spectrum is presented. Some of the features extracted are the formant frequency and ...
