The Fenton treatment is one of the advance treatment that is believed can treat an environmental wastewater problems nowadays. The research is about leachate treatment which focuses on Fenton method only on the study area of Padang Siding, Perlis landfill. Aim of this study is to identify physic-chemical characteristics of leachate, to investigate the factors affecting in Fenton process includes hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) dosage, ferrous ion (Fe2+) dosages, initial pH adjustment on COD removal using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and to evaluate the efficiency on COD removal, TSS, turbidity using Fenton process of the leachate of Padang Siding, Perlis landfill. The data showed that the leachate pH at 8.09 with total suspended solid of 66 mg/L, with turbidity 219 (NTU) and average COD value of 2933 mg/L obtained on this landfill. Besides, the value of 3.0 at initial pH adjustment, 1400 mg/L of dosage H2O2 and 0.6 dosage of ratio Fe2+/H2O2 was found to be the optimum value on degradation organic contaminant in this research. In overall all these three parameters shown a good result effenciencies on recducing organic contaminat and physical cahracteristics of leachate. The parameter of COD, TSS, and turbidity show the highest effecient 96%,90.9% and 96.55% respectively. Fenton process was highly dependent on Fe2+ and H2O2 concentration, when there were other factors such as time and pH.en_US
