    Abstract
    A recent study highlighted fact that waste management in construction industry has been receiving less attention comparison with construction cost and time. Most of the contractors not practicing waste minimization, because they argued that the waste materials have little value and these cause them to dispose the waste in landfills. Hence, the objective of this research are to identify practice of construction waste management in construction industry, identify the disposal method applied at site and factor affecting generation of construction waste and to determine barriers practicing waste management and element to a successful waste management. This study is to highlight the difference of CIDB grade in implement waste management that is Group A (G6-G7), Group B (G4-G5) and Group C (G1-G3). The findings shows that majority of respondents are less practicable of construction waste management. The result shows that method of waste disposal at site for Group A is landfill and open burning, while for Group B is applied open burning and Group C contractor applied dumping as their waste disposal method at site. Group A and B are agree that lack of promotion and encouragement on waste management and minimization from Government, developer and other parties while Group C respondents agreed that lack of knowledge on construction waste management is the barrier regarding practicing waste management and minimization. The finding will be an input to authorities for better construction waste management.
