dc.description.abstract | Today the failure of flexible pavement surface and structure has become a critical issue which may be caused by lack of quality in design and errors during designing process. Hence, designing road thickness has become an important element to determine the road system effectiveness to withstand high traffic load throughout its service period. The objective of this research is to identify problems on flexible pavement road and controlling road failures from becoming continuous. The results are obtained after using Visual Basic 2008 software to control flexible pavement construction based form Public Works Department standard specification methods. The result of utilizing the application produces a concise information display with basic commands, along with actual site images. Therefore, users can analyze and make comparison with the achieved results easier and faster, in terms of making a wiser and better choice in selecting alternative design. The analyzed results from the computer application can be stored in files for reference purposes as well as printed for future use. Besides that, the computer application results had been compared and it is found that it is similar of that which had been calculated manually. This had proven computer application can help assist by becoming among the solution suggestions for road engineers. With this, the produced computer application is very useful to ease designing process, saves time and
energy and minimizes human error compared to manual reference. The computer application also enables high accuracy and consistency to ensure the quality of flexible pavement. | en_US |
