    Abstract
    Nowadays, more and more disabled people are accepted to further their studies at higher learning education. In fact the government are trying to give effort to integrate disabled people into normal environment and efface gap or discrimination of disabled. For that purpose, the government through Ministry of Housing and Local Authority had done amendment to Uniform Building By Law (UBBL) in addition of 34A act which to make the disabled facilities is compulsory to public building. University Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) is also not excepted to prepare the freebarrier environment in campus. Even though the facilities had been prepared but not all the facilities had comply the Malaysian Standard. This study focusing on identifying the type of disabled persons facilities and to evaluate the effectiveness of the facilities at UniMAP Main Campus. Then, the suggestions to improve the facilities are obtained in this study. Three main blocks included lecture hall complex, mosque and School of Mechatronic Engineering buildings had choose to be the research buildings. From observation at the chosen areas, several types of facilities are identified. Some informal interviews are conducted to get the information about the facilities available. The ideas for suggestions to improve the current facilities is collected. Then, the survey method is used to collect the data from the respondents by using the questionnaires. Based on results from the questionnaires, the effectiveness of the facilities are evaluated and some of the opinion about the improvement suggestions are obtained. It can be concluded that most of the facilities are not still effective and most of the suggestions provided are agreed by the respondents. The audit method have been used to get the actual view of dimension for the current facilities to compare with the Malaysian Standard. From the results, it can be concluded that a few of the facilities is still not complying the Malaysian Standard. This can be related to the effectiveness of the facilities available in the UniMAP Main Campus.
