Distributed Generation (DG) integrated into distribution networks continued to grow both in number and size. Governments' incentives and obligations for a sustainable energy ensure that DG is going to be an important element in the future distribution systems. To achieve the maximum benefits of DG, factors such as the number and the capacity of the units and the best location have to be considered. This problem is addressed in this study by the development of algorithm to optimize the output of the DG in order to assess the performance from its installation. The optimization technique that will be used is Hybrid Mutation-Evolutionary Programming (HM-EP) and Particle swarm Optimization (PSO). The proposed technique would be able to effectively improve the voltage profile and also reduction in distribution losses. The proposed technique will be tested on IEEE 69-bus Reliability Test Systems and will be developed using the MATLAB programming software.
