dc.description.abstractThe adsorption of MB (Methylene Blue) and AO7 (Acid Orange 7) dye onto ACACMPL (Ananas Comosus Activated Carbon Mixed Peels and Leaves) were carried out by conducting five different parameters such as initial concentration, pH, dosage of adsorbent, contact time and temperature. Effect of initial concentration for both dyes showed that higher initial concentration would take longer contact time to attain equilibrium due to higher amount of adsorbate molecules. The effect of pH showed highest percentage removal for MB is at pH 9 which is 95.81 %. Meanwhile for AO7 the highest percentage removal is 31.06 % at pH 3. The percentage removal of MB had reached the equilibrium at dosage 0.5 g while AO7 keep increasing with the increment of adsorbent dosage. The percentage removal of MB and AO7 had increased until hour 2.5 which was from 72.5 % to 86.93 % and 19.441 % to 36.89 % respectively and reached equilibrium at hour 3.Effect of temperature showed the best temperature for removing MB is at 30 ⁰C with 91.1 % of percentage removal while AO7 is at 40⁰C with 34.7 % of percentage removal. For this present study, both dyes consist of both condition of endothermic and exothermic. The equilibrium data for MB adsorption well fitted with Freundlich isotherm meanwhile AO7 showed Langmuir isotherm is better fitted data. For the kinetic study, MB is better fit with second order kinetic model meanwhile AO7 well fitted with first order kinetic model. This study presented that cation dye showed higher percentage removal compared to anion dye.en_US
