There have many types of method to solving the heat equation through its application in the real engineering. On this project, there have two different type of solving heat equation based on two applications on the real world. Using the two kind of software where FORTRAN and EXCEL, this project tend to gain the knowledge how it can apply based on solving heat equation on the 2D structure like the main grid structure and the chimney system structure. By targeting the numerical mathematical application to solving both of the heat equation, it became more interactive to solving the heat equation. Overset grid has been used extensively in the field of computational fluid dynamics .Some of the routine involves for the method is even made available for free to researchers by NASA. However, the use of the code is strictly prohibited in US and it quite limited due to restricted access. This project intent to develop a simple overset routine code that can be used for research in this country. The heat equation is targeted for its simplicity and because of the availability of analytical solution. The code developed will then be maintained for future use. The code will be established by using FORTRAN 90/95 language than are very useful for developing the overset grid code. Meanwhile, solving the heat equation by a few equations which have the few unknown can be solving by EXCEL which also the basic software to choose to solve the heat equation of 2D structure.en_US
