The increasing use of sophisticated electronics, high efficiency variable speed drive, and power electronic controller, power quality has become an increasing concern to utilities and customers. Voltage sags is the most common type of power quality disturbance in the distribution system. It can be caused by fault in the electrical network or by the starting of a large induction motor. This paper intends to discuss the comparison of the performance of two voltage sags mitigation techniques which are Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) and Distribution Static Compensator (DSTATCOM) for single line to ground faults. The analyses are focus on the effectiveness of the techniques to mitigate voltage sags in terms of magnitude and phase shift. The simulation had been done by using PSCAD/EMTDC software.en_US
