This report contains an account of my final year project, which was carried out in the forth year of the Electronic Engineering (B.Eng) degree at Universiti Malaysia Perlis. This paper is based on the design and analysis of heat indicator using Barium Tantalum Strontium Titanate (BTST) thin film sensor which was fabricated in Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) Cleanroom by their researchers. This project was done to see the potential of the sensor itself. This project is divided into two parts namely software and hardware development. Also, it includes two circuits that need to be designed and developed, specifically analogue and digital part. Hence, to prove the circuit works, the simulation of the output need to be shown. This heat indicator consists of BTST thin film sensor and also PIC controller for data acquisition and conversion. When heat is applied to the sensor, the sensor will detect the heat by electrical characteristic which is the resistance that produced by sensor. The signal conditioning circuit and the microcontroller will indicate whether it’s hot or not by how many LEDs light up.en_US
