An attempt has been taken to know the Women’s Participation in Homestead Agriculture in the context of rural culture of Rangasree Union under Barisal District in Bangladesh. To achieve the findings of the study primary data were collected from the sample using a pretested interview schedule during November to December, 2009. The collected data were carefully edited, coded, computed, tabulated and analyzed in accordance with the objectives of the study. The selected characteristics of the rural women constituted independent variables and participation of the rural women in homestead agriculture activities constituted the dependent variable for the study. Person’s Product Moment Co-efficient of Correlation (r) has been used to test the hypothesis concerning the relationship between two variables. Five percent and one percent level of probability were used as the basis for rejection of a hypothesis. Six null hypotheses were formulated to test the relationship between the selected characteristics of the rural women and their extent of participation in homestead agricultural activities which are accepted. It is observed that the highest proportion (74%) of the rural women feel in the “medium participation” category while 19 percent of them feel in the “ low participation” category and only 7 percent feel in the “high participation” category.en_US
