Dolomite consist carbonate of calcium and magnesium (CaC03 and MgCO^). It is formed [CaMg (CO^J from chemical action of sea-water containing high magnesium on limestone. The purpose of this study is to characterize dolomite at various heating time. Powder from raw dolomite and dolomite calcined at 900°C and 1100°C heated at 1100°C at 4, 8, 12, and 24 hours heating time. Characterization is made to raw and calcined dolomite to determine the effect of heating time to properties of dolomite. The test involved is BET and XRF with the measurement of weight loss. The study shows that, porosity and adsorption change with the increasing of heating time. Weight loss occurs during heating process.en_US
