The continuous stretching surface heat transfer and flow field problem has many practical applications in industrial and technology. Some of the application areas are hot rolling, paper production, metal spinning, drawing plastic films, glass blowing, continuous casting of metals and spinning of fibers. In this paper, mathematical models to study heat transfer coefficients over a continuous stretching surface subject to uniform surface temperature, variable surface temperature and uniform heat flux with power law velocity and temperature distribution are developed. The governing equations which consist of coupled non-linear partial differential equations are solved numerically using Keller-box method, an unconditionally stable implicit finite difference scheme. Numerical results presented include the temperature profiles and heat transfer coefficients for various parametric physical conditions such as the Prandtl number, Pr, velocity exponent, m, temperature exponent, n and suction or injection parameter, d. It is worth mentioning that the results obtained for the temperature gradient and heat transfer coefficient, are in excellent agreement with available solution obtained by other methods.en_US
