    Abstract
The world is facing major climate changes in the surrounding temperature increase due to the depletion of the ozone layer, greenhouse and others, thereby affecting human performance and energy efficiency. One of the things that happens is caused by the increase of waste is very high. To reduce waste in this world, the use of waste materials has been done so as not to increase the height. In this study, bottom ash taken from Municipal Solid will be used. Bottom ash will be used as a partial replacement for cement division by a predetermined percentage. By using bottom ash as a partial substitute for cement, this can minimize the use of cement and indirectly reduce the use of natural materials such as limestone. The aim of this study was to identify the effects of bottom ash to replace cement in concrete as thermal insulation materials. The use of bottom ash as research material is caused by substances contained in cement is almost the same with bottom ash. The percentage of bottom ash that to be used is 10 %, 20 % and 30 % .This percentage ratio is required to determine the appropriate percentage to be used in the production of concrete in order to produce optimum strength. In terms of ability, height test was conducted and showed the percentage of 10% was the best decision of 55mm fall. While in terms of the percentage of water absorption capacity of 10% is the lowest percentage of water absorption. In terms of compressive strength, the percentage of 10% shows the highest strength of 26.3MPa and surpassed strength 20MPa. Fire resistant test shows the percentage of 10% is the highest and convenient to use. Based on the some tests carried out showed that the percentage of 10% is the most optimal percentage and the main objective of this study can be achieved.
